ABOUT JULIANA FLEMING
I\'m a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives, where I advise on a broad portfolio including foreign policy, education, healthcare, and immigration. In this role, I support senior leadership by translating complex issues into clear recommendations, coordinating across stakeholders, and helping drive outcomes that impact thousands of constituents. I have also represented my boss in international settings, engaging with foreign counterparts on behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives. My work is rooted in stakeholder engagement and relationship-building. I regularly collaborate with advocacy organizations, government agencies, community partners and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and high-level principals, to advance shared priorities, manage logistics for important meetings and briefings, and ensure clear, strategic communication across teams. I bring experience in research, coordination, and data-informed decision-making, using analytics and feedback to guide recommendations and improve outcomes. I am highly self-directed, detail-oriented, and trusted to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. I am also a published writer, with work featured in Breaking Defense\'s November 2025 publication. My background includes national service with AmeriCorps and disaster response with FEMA, where I led teams, managed operations, and worked on-the-ground with communities, experiences that strengthened my commitment to mission-driven work and community impact. AmeriCorps remains one of my most fulfilling professional experiences to date. I thrive in roles at the intersection of partnerships, advancement, and nonprofit management, where I can help build meaningful connections, support fundraising and external engagement efforts, and contribute to ambitious, community-centered initiatives. I am actively engaged in Latino leadership and community networks, including the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI), Centro Cultural Cubano, and the New England Association for Colombian Children (NEACOL). I am bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoy playing soccer in my free time.
