About Juliana Valencia

Juliana Valencia is a reporter for News4Today and Telemundo 44 as well as a regular fill-in anchor. Juliana joined NBC4 in October of 2019 from WHAS 11 in Louisville, Kentucky where she anchored weekday mornings and at noon. In her last months in Louisville, she anchored the noon, 4pm, and 5 p.m. While in Louisville, Juliana launched the only weekday Spanish webcast in the region. Juliana moved to Louisville from Paducah, KY where she anchored weekend mornings and reported daily at WPSD Local 6. In the community, she participated in Dancing with Our Stars. DWOS is a major fundraising event over several months for the America Cancer Society in Paducah.Valencia is used to new places. She moved six times as child. Valencia was born in Gainesville, Florida, raised in Corpus Christ, TX, and went to high school in Nashville, TN. Her parents are immigrants from Colombia, South America, raising her in a Spanish-speaking home. Juliana earned a Telecommunications Degree and Business Administration minor from the University of Florida. Over those four years, she swam on UF\'s Club Swim & Dive Team and served as president her senior year. She is a UF Miss Hispanic Student Association Scholarship Pageant winner and an Alpha Omicron Pi Alumnae. At UF, she also worked as a reporter and anchor for WUFT-TV and WUFT-FM (NPR), and in the sports department at WCJB-TV 20. She also spent a summer working for CNN in Atlanta at HLN and CNN en Español. After graduation, Juliana worked at WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, North Carolina as a one-man-band-journalist. Valencia is all about positivity, community camaraderie, and encouraging others to eat veggies. She recently discovered running and is looking forward to the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler in the spring.
