SKILLS
ABOUT JULIANA LOCKWOOD
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), in both the state of IL and CA, who is passionate about instilling hope in clients. After graduating from the University of San Diego where I double majored in Psychology and Spanish, I entered a Master of Science program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University. As I wished to be immersed in the Spanish language, this graduate program allowed me to complete my practicum hours with Spanish speaking individuals, couples and families at The Family Institute (TFI) under the supervision of bilingual clinicians. After graduating from Northwestern, I went on to work as a bilingual children\'s Staff Therapist at Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) at their children\'s outpatient center. Working at C4 enhanced my training in offering culturally appropriate, competent and individualized treatment according to the client\'s/families demographic factors and needs. I then transitioned to working at The Family Institute as a Postgraduate Fellow where I enhanced my skills in Behavioral Therapies (such as CBT, DBT, & RODBT) while continuing to work with children and adolescents. I now work as a Bilingual Staff Therapist at TFI and enjoy working with children, adolescent and adult clients. I also provide supervision for Northwestern University\'s Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program as a AAMFT Approved Supervisor.Feel free to reach out to me to discuss job opportunities, culture or travel. I am always looking for an opportunity to enhance my passion and practice of the Spanish language as well.
