ABOUT JULIAN STANFIELD
Our design of ‘public’ space, cities and neighborhoods must look at its natural and cultural history to define a canvas for us to authentically connect people to place. Understanding the regional ecological systems often juxtaposed against the volatility of economic and capitalistic change, the landscape of cities offers a restorative projection for the urban realm. We have a mission of working behind and beside those who navigate political regimes and institutional boundaries that historically and consistently sever the link between communities, natural resources, and economic opportunity.True revitalization must achieve growth without displacement. Viewing landscape as a multigenerational, multifunctional, and iterative process that recognizes all life and systems within the critical zone all as constituents of the public realm. By acknowledging and scrutinizing how these spaces are controlled, manifested, and evolved, design advances a practice of reparative urbanism. The goal is to reconnect people and place enables those to witness their legacy in space and time. True to the history and context with us to serve as a Bridge between fragmented histories and divided systems, can landscape become an actor in restoration and a ground for the (r)evolution of our cities.
