William Lamb is a designer and producer of high-quality own-branded and licensed footwear and fashion accessories. Founded in 1887 and having over a hundred employees across the world, it now sells via its own websites, as well as Amazon, Very and John Lewis in UK, alongside various international platforms.Group Head of IT Reporting into the group CEO and responsible for all IT operations, strategy and delivery across the group, focusing initially on the ‘branded’ division of the business (POD, Lamb, Barbour and others). As with most positions in a small business, the role is both strategic and very hands-on, involving a wide variety of both IT and business responsibilities.Some notable programmes delivered or in planning:• Completed roll-out of a new Xelion cloud-based phone system, replacing the legacy on-premise solution.• Evaluation, re-architecture and migration of the company’s core infrastructure into the MS Azure cloud to ensure compliance, meet cyber insurance requirements, and replace end-of-life systems and processes.• Solved the technical challenge of how to connect our China users into a single global EP instance and successfully delivered this as part of the Azure programme.• Initial evaluation of an appropriate PLM / ERP system for the business, to replace the current heavily bespoke system. Implementation of this has now been put on hold as the business restructures.• Preparation for the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements.• Introduction and promotion of AI in the business.• Led the next phase of the company’s solar generation / carbon reduction journey with the replacement of all lighting in the warehouses and offices with LED equivalents, yielding a 70% saving in the lighting bill.
