As a Senior Network Engineer at John Hancock, I have over 12 years of experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network systems across multiple platforms and environments. I have successfully completed many major projects that required architectural changes, such as moving companies to AWS or building out hybrid cloud on-prem architectures using both traditional routing and switching and modern SD-WAN solutions. 1. Senior Network Design and Implementation Engineer

   In this position, I was a lead senior network engineer responsible for designing and implementing many major projects for John Hancock/Manulife in their on-premise USA and Canada data-centers, and interconnections to the cloud Azure, AWS networks and connectivity back to the branches and campusesSome of the major projects I did at Manulife were:1. Redesign and implement a full-fledged BGP with inter-VRF routing design, to meet new security goals for multi-tenant style routing at their main USA data centers.2. Refresh all their core, distribution and WAN routers and switches to new Catalyst and series network appliances. I led a team of four engineers on the implementation and planning of this entire project.3. Oversee the most business-to-business interconnects and redesign our data center to be compatible with modern route-based VPN tunnels. I became the first one to implement this style of VPN tunnels in our complex inter-VRF BGP environment and guided the rest of the team with scripts and automation I created on how to implement these types of VPN tunnels in the future, both on our current hardware and future SD-WAN project goals.4. Led the initial design and implementation of Microsoft Teams rooms and Microsoft Teams VC units across the entire company globally. I was responsible for resolving both firewall and network access and routing for the entire project and also configured and installed many of the VC units on campuses worldwide.5. Work on cloud network engineering tickets using Terraform automation tickets to create new VPCs, subnets, NACLs, and many other parts required to fulfill the creation of new network environments in their Azure cloud.6. Lead the assessment of budgetary costs, work with project managers, managers and meet with VARs, and be involved in procurement in all these projects and many others above, from inception to completion.
