ABOUT JULIAN R. MASTRO
I am a science educator, head lacrosse coach, and dorm head at The Hotchkiss School, working at the intersection of education, leadership, and human development.In the classroom, I teach Honors Biology, Honors Limnology, and Honors Stream Ecology. My courses are experiential and data driven, built around field research, authentic datasets, and structured inquiry. I want students moving beyond memorization toward ownership by asking sharper questions, analyzing evidence carefully, and thinking in systems.Outside the classroom, I lead a varsity lacrosse program and serve as a dorm head. Across athletics and residential life, my work centers on structured growth and daily standards. I believe high expectations and strong relationships reinforce one another and create the conditions for meaningful development.Whether in the lab, on the field, or in the dorm, my goal is consistent.
