ABOUT JULIAN ARNEY
Jule Arney (xe/they) is the Director of Training & Research at Hugh Lane Wellness. Xe grew up in Detroit, Indianapolis, and Atlanta before moving to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon Univerisity and earn xyr BA in Psychology, with studies focused in prejudice, discrimination, and public policy. Jule’s experiences related to xyr Black, genderqueer, gray-ace, and neurodiverse identities in various pockets of Midwestern and Southern American culture informed and inspired xyr passion and activism for human rights and equity. Xe has developed and facilitated LGBTQIA+ and DEI trainings and workshops for a wide variety of industries and audiences for more than 15 years. In xyr free time, Jule enjoys attending art galleries/shows and participating in a variety of club sports including sand volleyball, dodgeball, and kickball. Xe serves on many community advisory boards, including serving as Vice Chair of the City of Pittsburgh’s LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council 20••••19.
