About Julia Humphrey
I am a recent graduate of the University of San Diego, where I received my B.S. Environmental and Ocean Sciences with a focus in Marine Ecology and minors of Biology and Chemistry. I am extremely passionate about field research that aids in ocean ecosystem conservation. I have experience with research pertaining to animal behavior, fisheries management, remote and tropical marine ecosystems, research cruises, and mathematical modeling in addition to other areas. I hope to continue conducting research that contributes to fisheries management and ecosystem conservation. I am looking to continue my education and research experience at a graduate program.

I support scientific operations across multiple divisions, including the Fisheries Research and Monitoring Division and Protected Species Division, gaining exposure to reef monitoring, fisheries assessment, & protected species research in Hawaiʻi. I coordinate purchasing, payments, reimbursements, travel, mileage reimbursements, and non-employee visiting scientist arrangements for CIMAR projects and employees at PIFSC. I am actively building connections at PIFSC and learning from the scientists around me to inform my next steps.
