ABOUT JULIA HILDEBRAND
Julia is leading the project beabee at CORRECTIV. beabee is an open source software and community project aiming to empower more people across Europe to start and run local, independent, community-driven and membership-financed newsrooms in order to bring more diversity to our local information ecosystems. Between 2014 and 2021 Julia has been working with the Dublin-based social startup ChangeX on building a platform that makes it easy for people to find, start and invest in ideas that transform communities. Before moving to Dublin, Julia worked as Social Media Manager with Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW). She was responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies and usage guidelines at DW from the very beginning, and trained journalists in using social media and other online tools in their day-to-day work. Julia studied media and journalism at the University of Bonn and Florence
