    Oversee the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases (ProMED), the oldest existing event-based surveillance program comprised of 30 independent contractor Subject Matter Experts in 24 countries credited with sending out the first global alert about COVID-19.• Set ProMED’s strategy and direction and lead all projects; write project proposals, draft contracts, create and manage budgets, execute work, track deliverables, write project reports, create invoices.• Managed the multi-year, multi-vendor update of the ProMED IT infrastructure and website upgrade integrating highly technical IT requirements (to include AI) with unique scientific disease surveillance requirements while ensuring no downtime in disease reporting operations. This included monitoring work progress as well as prototype testing and trouble-shooting to ensure the final product met requirements.• Lead internal strategic planning sessions to create a shared vision and roadmap for ProMED’s future, for generating sustainable revenue, and for bringing the supporting technology into the 21st century. Wrote three-year strategic plan, budget, and presentation for potential funders.• Wrote the winning proposal for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Imagine Grant outlining the three-year strategic plan for ProMED; ISID was one of 10 organizations awarded the grant out of 700 applicants. • Secured a $1.04 million grant for ProMED from the Wellcome Trust to be part of the Centres for Antimicrobial Optimisation Network collaboration; secured two grants from Pfizer totaling over • Designed and executed a training for 20 public health officials from the Southern Africa Member states on event-based surveillance.• Represent ISID and ProMED to external partners and stakeholders including: the WHO, US CDC, Africa CDC, European CDC, the Robert Koch Institute, Wellcome Trust, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Gates Foundation, Pfizer, Abbott Labs, and numerous federal, state, and local public health agencies.
