About Julia Wartman
I am a recent Kenyon College graduate who majored in English and with minors in Arabic and Studio Art. As a rugby player on Kenyon College Rugby Club, dancer and choreographer for Kenyon\'s Dance Department, journalist for The Kenyon Collegian and Museum Associate at The Gund, I dedicated myself to finding and forging community on campus. I am currently a teaching Montessori kindergarten. I approach the classroom through this same community-driven mindset as I teach and learn beside our next generation of students.

We scrub our plates after we eat lunch on them, add a quarter teaspoon of garlic power to half an avocado to make guacamole, scrub the floor when it is needed, or wanted, sew pillow cases, count beads with a paper-clip-sized piece of plastic and write our friends letters in cursive. I teach students to value process, sustainability and independence, and learn something new from these efforts every day.
