About Julia Rocio Bonenfant
Julia Gallagher graduated from Westminster Choir College in 2015, with honors, with a Bachelors of Arts in Music degree. Her primary concentration was Voice, but also minored in American Studies. Julia studied voice with Ms. Elizabeth Sutton, participated in student-run musical theater productions, and sang in two of the esteemed on-campus choirs. As a soprano in the Westminster Symphonic Choir, trained by Dr. Joe Miller, Julia has sung in various performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra led by Yannick Nézet-Séguin; including Mahler’s Symphony II and Bernstein\'s MASS. Though, the highlight of her choral career at Westminster was singing for three years as a first soprano in the Grammy-nominated Westminster’s Williamson Voices led by Dr. James Jordan. She participated with the choir for the newly developed Conducting Institute at Oxford, England, for three summers. The tight-knit choir performs pieces written by famed composers like Paul Mealor, James Whitbourn, and Thomas LaVoy. Julia continued her relationship with Dr. Jordan and alumni of Williamson Voices in singing with The Same Stream. After graduating, Julia relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where she spent nearly 3 years actively pursuing her career in performance. Julia performed with a band at local events, took dance lessons, and honored her commitment to The Same Stream. In order to support herself she worked part-time with Ticket Philadelphia, Starr Restaurants, and the Community of Integrated Services. During her time as a Job Coach with CIS, Julia found that she enjoyed working as part of a support team and that she wanted to be a part of a team full-time. In March of 2018, Julia moved back to her hometown in Connecticut where she accepted the position of Program Coordinator at STAR, Inc, Lighting the Way. Julia has since transitioned into the administrative side of business and accepted the position of Human Resources Coordinator with a private equity investment partner. Julia was recently promoted to Human Resources Associate and will be taking on more HR responsibilities. In her spare time, Julia continues to actively pursue music and performance opportunities in the Tri-State area.
