ABOUT JULIA NGUYEN
I am a 2019 Virginia Tech graduate, raised in Annandale, Virginia, and a March 2022 graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) Program. While in PA school, I pursued a Health Policy Track and conducted research comparing post-operative opioid prescribing practices in cardiac surgery in a pediatric hospital versus adult hospital. Prior to graduate school, I pursued my EMT-B certification at Virginia Tech. I joined the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, a student-run volunteer service providing emergency medical care to the students, staff, and visitors of Virginia Tech, where I amassed thousands of volunteer service hours and countless patient encounters as an EMT. While on the Squad, I additionally served in many leadership roles, most notably as a Lieutenant. My main interests are emergency medicine and urgent/immediate/express care, with other interests in cardiology, transplant medicine, and obstetrics & gynecology. Other passions and hobbies include teaching, hiking, running, and making coffee as a barista. I am also a part-time substitute elementary school teacher for Arlington County, Virginia.Clinically, I am currently working full-time at Howard University Hospital in the Emergency Department, as well as part-time at Privia Prima Medicine in the Urgent Care.
