Five years ago, five like-minded primary school Head Teachers had a vision to work, support and challenge each other in a formal and structured way that had not yet been seen in Northamptonshire. We created the first Northamptonshire non-sponsored Multi Academy Trust - NPAT, or Northampton Primary Academy Trust. After two years as one of these heads, I became the Strategic Director and then the CEO for the trust with a focus on school improvement, learning and teaching, and the development and evolution of NPAT. Our trust now has eight primary schools, likely to become eleven in 2018, and is responsible for the education of 3700 amazing children. My previous role was as Head Teacher of a large, two site primary school following our support of, and subsequent merger with, a special measures school. I am passionate about inclusion and support for vulnerable families and interested in the use of technology to enhance learning. I present at numerous head/governor conferences about collaboration and multi-academy trusts.
