My practice focuses on nonprofit organizations and employment law, with a primary client base of nonprofit associations, credentialing organizations, and government contractors. I serve as a trusted advisor to my clients\' staff leadership and boards, providing critical and strategic counseling. My practice encompasses all facets of the employment relationship as well as governance and organizational policies. I advise on legal compliance, credentialing, ethics and disciplinary codes, ADA accessibility, diversity and inclusion, and governance. My clients value my subject matter expertise, deep understanding of their goals and organizations, and consistently high caliber work. I have received multiple awards for excellence in legal services, including repeated recognition as one of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers. I aim to help clients achieve their goals, avoiding litigation where possible, while placing clients in a strong position should the need to initiate or defend a lawsuit arise. I also frequently partner with my colleagues in the public policy practice to achieve clients’ objectives in the legislative or regulatory arenas, as well as teaming with litigation attorneys to address disputes relating to nonprofit, credentialing, or employment legal issues. I am a regular speaker on employment and nonprofit legal issues and write frequently on these topics. I am a co-author of the Certification and Accreditation Law Handbook (3rd ed, 2016)(ADA and Due Process chapters), Certification: The ICE Handbook (3rd ed, 2019)(Certification Law chapter), and the forthcoming Association Law Handbook (7th ed, 2025).I also maintain a commitment to pro bono practice, with a particular focus on providing legal ethics counsel to nonprofit legal services organizations.Note: this summary of my practice qualifies as lawyer advertising in some jurisdictions; prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
