Managing a team of bright and dedicated aerodrome & ground handling experts. The team is responsible for rulemaking (Regulation 139/2014 + certification specifications for aerodrome design) in close cooperation with ICAO, as well as the new ground handling Regulations 2025/20 and 2025/23. Next to rulemaking, we inspect EU Member States to ensure implementation of the EU aerodrome safety regulation in the EU via so-called standardisation inspections of competent authorities. Recently the section has started to develop Europe\'s first safety Regulation for ground handling, enlarging the scope of the EU and EASA to improve safety in ground handling. In July 2024 we published the first aerodrome equipment certification/declaration concept to allow manufacturers access to the EU market with a single certificate/declaration. I believe in empowering people to succeed as individuals and to fulfill our high ambitions of making aerodrome and ground handling operations safe, efficient and open to technological innovations.
