About Julia Donfrancesco

I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Rhode Island, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology on the Pre-Physician Assistant track. I have had the privilege being involved on campus, serving as Vice President of Risk Management for the Delta Zeta sorority as well as Risk Management Chair on the Panhellenic Council. I further developed my leadership skills as an undergraduate teaching assistant for two courses, where I educated fellow students while reinforcing my own knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology and Exercise Physiology. Outside of my university, I volunteered at the Anne C. Papas Center located in Rhode Island Hospital, gaining valuable healthcare exposure while contributing to the well-being of others. Through maintaining leadership positions, engaging in extracurricular activities, and managing a rigorous course load, I have developed strong organizational and time-management skills. I have earned my Certified Nursing Assistant license, where I spent the past few years gaining hands-on experience working as a CNA in memory care at an assisted living facility and on the trauma-burn unit in Rhode Island Hospital. Currently, I am working as a Dermatology Medical Assistant, further diversifying my health care experience. As I continue to advance my education and patient care experience, my passion for medicine and patient-centered care deepens. I am eager to further expand my skills and knowledge in healthcare as I prepare for Physician Assistant school.

1. Medical Assistant and Scribe

   Support providers during patient visits by rooming patients, reviewing medical histories, and scribing in the electronic medical record. I also assist with in-office dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and wound care while maintaining sterile technique and adhering to safety protocols. I also provide education on diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, post-procedure care, coordinate specimens and lab documentation, collaborate with physicians, PA’s, NP’s, and other clinic staff to provide efficient patient centered care in a fast-pace environment. additionally, I assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling, phone triage, and maintaining accurate documentation to support clinic work flow.
