My background demonstrates excellent educational background and hands-on experience overseeing corporate regulatory compliance, arbitration concerns, and legal contract administration while driving successful execution of large-scale projects. I always demonstrate persistence, persuasion, leadership, and superior communication skills while interacting with clients and providing excellent service.As an Assistant General Counsel at Cook County Health, I am the Plan Counsel for CountyCare Health Plan, one the largest Illinois Medicaid Health Plans and First Tier Entity to a Medicare Advantage Plan. Currently, I am supporting the development of an expanded health care network for uninsured patients in Cook County.I draft the majority of my office\'s templates for business associate agreements, data sharing, referral and transfer agreements, settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS), managed care provider/ single case agreements, as well as master service and academic affiliation agreements to effectuate expedient work and uniform communications from the Office of the General Counsel. As an active member of the hospital\'s Inpatient Transfer Team, I advise the inpatient clinical staff on matters of guardianships, health care surrogacy, compliance with the IL Mental Health Code and associated state privacy laws, and health care power of attorney requirements. I am integral member of the mental health team to assist in legally compliant mental health treatment both at the Cook County Jail and at Stroger Hospital. I am the subject matter expert for the Office of the General Counsel on quarantine, isolation, and closure requirements for federal, state, and local laws, including 1135 waiver requirements in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. I lead compliance with Stark and Antikickback requirements for the Office of the General Counsel and recently was nominated to oversee the policy and procedure development around physician compensation and fair market value analysis.While I was an Assistant State’s Attorney, I represented elected officials and agencies of Cook County, including the office of the Chief Procurement Officer and CCH, in litigation matters and anadvisory capacity by providing oral and written advice, health care compliance, and contract support relevant to a unit of local government and health facilities, including Freedom of Information Act,Open Meetings Act, public health, mental health, probate, privacy law, regulatory, and municipal litigation matters, and civil and criminal appeals.
