WORK HISTORY
Speech Language Pathologist @Centre for Autism Services Alberta
Calgary, AB, CA
I support Autistic children and youth (ages 0–18) and their families through the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Specialized Services (SS) and Behavioural Developmental Support (BDS) programs, using a neurodiversity/neurodivergent-affirming approach to care. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Analysts, Social Workers, and Clinical Coordinators, I provide individualized therapy in children’s homes, focused on communication, social, and functional goals that are co-developed with children, parents, and caregivers. In addition, I contribute to Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and case conferences to ensure services are well-aligned, and I prepare timely, strengths-based reports in accessible, parent-friendly language to foster understanding and collaboration.I coach families and support personnel using a consultative “I do, we do, you do” model, highlighting strengths, offering guidance, strategies, and progress updates to build capacity and promote meaningful carryover at home and in the community.

ABOUT JUDY SENGSAVANG
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (R. SLP(C), Alberta) and a Speech and Audiology Canada member who has the honour of serving families in Calgary and the surrounding areas!I have an educational background in Early Childhood Studies and over 7+ years of early learning and speech-language pathology-centered experience working with children, families, and adult and geriatric patients in a variety of settings (e.g, hospitals, clinics, early intervention programs, community services, schools, and childcare). The principles of my practice include person-centered, neurodiversity affirming and strengths-based care. I focus on meeting people where they are in their healthcare journeys and collaborate with clients and families to help them achieve functional and individualized communication goals that are important to them.I embed patient education into my interactions and aim to create space for family engagement to foster feelings of empowerment. I am mindful of each individual\'s intersectionality and their unique funds of knowledge and want to build on these strengths throughout my interactions. I use holistic, evidence-based approaches that target remediation, compensation, and removing social barriers. My interests include dysphagia and feeding, language and literacy development, articulation, motor speech, and social communication. It is also a goal of mine to teach and provide mentorship. In my free time, you’ll find me with loved ones and taking on extra-professional and volunteer projects to give back to my communities. As well, making a mess in the kitchen (“cooking”), staying active, and exploring the beautiful nature Alberta has to offer.I would love to connect. In the meantime, take care, and be gentle to yourself and others.
