My career as an award-winning writer and technically based marketing communications professional blends a love of language and storytelling that began in childhood with curiosity and a desire to make sense out of things, for myself and for others. I love synthesizing and \"translating\" complex topics and language into stories that readers or viewers can identify with, relate to, and use to their benefit. I believe that what makes this possible is caring, not only about the topic, but also about the people for whom the stories are written. My proudest moments have come from hearing subject matter experts compare what I do to performing magic. My career encompasses full-time, freelance, and contract positions with integrated oil and gas companies, technical products and service companies, and advertising and PR firms. In addition to my work for the energy industry, I have written educational and promotional content for hospitals and tourism. I have also developed and implemented marketing communications strategy and programs.
