ABOUT JUDITH MORGANE

I am a creative producer and heritage consultant with deep expertise in site-specific programming, cultural regeneration, and community-led placemaking. With roots in music and theatre and academic training in creative writing and dramaturgy, I take an interdisciplinary approach to cultural strategy and leadership.My recent work has focused on underserved communities in Cornwall, deprived urban areas in Devon, and post-pandemic inner-city challenges, aiming to revive community spaces for business, recreation, and cultural use. I have a particular interest in creating vibrant cultural centres through a shared sense of ownership and responsibility.For me, heritage and culture lie at the heart of a thriving, egalitarian society, and I use the arts and literature as a powerful tool for social change. As part of my community development work, I have been appointed as Multifaith chaplain at the University of Exeter and am serving as project co-lead on a regeneration initiative between the university and Exeter City Council, bringing together academics, students, artists, and local communities to revitalise nature and cultural heritage spaces.Arts and culture are not just about creativity but about wellbeing, belonging and transformation. They have the power to create cohesive communities, influence cross-sector policy and strengthen cultural as well as economic development, all to build a more equal and humane society; I founded my organisation Lightbear Lane to make that vision a reality.
