   I am privileged to have served 25+ years as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge (5 as Chief Judge) and 12 years as a litigator in the U.S. Attorney\'s Office. I have an extensive background in understanding the pros and cons of litigation across multiple disciplines, civil and criminal and commercial and consumer. I have broad experience as mediator, expert witness and consultant on a wide variety of business, bankruptcy, contract and malpractice issues. I am further privileged to have been a founding tenured faculty member at the Indiana Tech Law School and now a Professor of Practice at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. I have held positions as President and Treasurer of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, Board Member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Bankruptcy Education Committee of the Commercial Law League, Chair of the Audit Committee of the Allegheny Bar Association, and others. I am a member of the American Law Institute and the American College of Bankruptcy.
