I oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure smooth workflow and research continuity, including the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments to minimize downtime. I manage procurement, inventory, and budgeting for supplies and consumables in alignment with research goals. In addition, I ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and local health and safety regulations through routine checks, onboarding procedures, and regular training updates. I play a key role in coordinating onboarding and protocol training for new lab members and visiting researchers to ensure consistent adherence to lab standards and institutional policies.I supervise and mentor a diverse team of PhD students, undergraduate interns, visiting scholars, and student researchers, providing support across research, writing, and presentation activities. I contribute to manuscript and grant development by editing, providing feedback, and co-authoring peer-reviewed publications. I also assist with data interpretation, figure preparation, and adherence to publication standards. Beyond the lab, I support external outreach and academic partnerships, contribute to multi-institutional project coordination, and help develop strategic planning materials and reports for the RENEW Institute.

Senior Research ScientistAs part of the UB RENEW Institute, I am currently involved in various projects, ranging from topics related to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the agrosystems and municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) to studying the health risks that pollutants pose on humans.I am currently working with our research team to tackle significant challenges in determining levels of antibiotics that can be used as a basis in implementing regulations to control input of AMR drivers from WWTPs to prevent AMR development in the environment. I am also investigating the risks of pollutants on humans by exploring the roles of cellular transporters in the uptake and localization of perfluoroalkylsubstances (PFAS).Research: PFAS,QToF LC-MS, Transporters, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antibiotics
