Professional Background IN 1976 began a decade in Denver journalism as a reporter, columnist and editor. Staff or freelance for most metro newspapers and magazines. Wrote for the first issue of Westword onward, Managing editor for Denver edition of Colorado Daily and The Downtowner. Lead writer for Colorado Statesman. Covered politics, health, education, transportation, environment.Returning to school, I earned a double BA in Journalism and Communication followed by graduate work in organizational and public communication. For next two decades, wrote for top national and international media trade magazines, pioneering coverage of interactive TV, distance learning and the emerging internet (bylined \"Ken Freed\"). Primary sideline is coordinating and promoting events for organizations and institutions. Secondary sideline is teaching with skills in curriculum development and academic administration. Published five books. Earlier works on a global sensibility won two Nautilus Book Awards for best social change book and a Colorado Evvy for best personal growth book. I also wrote a book on educational television for Financial Times UK.
