About Juan Rubio
I am a Chemical Engineering senior at the University of Houston, graduating in May 2027, with hands-on experience across multiple large-scale chemical manufacturing facilities. I am currently a Chemical Engineering Co-op at Olin in Plaquemine, Louisiana, where I support plant operations through data-driven analysis and engineering problem solving.Previously, I worked as a Production Engineer Intern at Braskem’s La Porte site and as a Chemical Engineering Co-op at the Vencorex Freeport facility (now Covestro), gaining exposure to day-to-day production challenges, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within operating plants. I have also accepted a Chemical Engineering internship with Linde for the upcoming summer (Summer 2026).I bring a strong technical foundation, with experience using Aspen, Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, Simulink, Excel, and VBA to analyze process data, model systems, and support operational decision-making. I am particularly interested in roles that sit close to the plant floor and combine process understanding with data analysis to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.I am seeking full-time opportunities in the Houston area after graduation (May 2027) within manufacturing or production-focused chemical engineering roles, where I can continue learning, take ownership of complex problems, and contribute meaningful impact in an operating plant environment.
