In 2024, I successfully managed all the planning logistics for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, as well as the 2024 Political Conventions (RNC and DNC). I handled budgeting and managed travel and entertainment for over 100+ staffers.Provide ongoing operational support to a staff of 900+ reporters, editors, and Masthead leaders while leading and supervising a team of 33 operations managers, news assistants, and executive assistants.Evaluate staff performances and provide semi-annual and annual performance feedback, solicit and distribute performance ratings and compensation adjustments among direct report staff. Oversee all administrative Newsroom training programs to make sure operations managers have the proper coaching to enforce guidelines in compliance with company and NewsGuild standards. Work closely with Newsroom human resources department to implement and communicate company-wide policies and best practices to ensure confidentiality and employee satisfaction among newsroom staff and leadership. Liaise with the Newsroom finance team to create, track, monitor, and manage multi-million dollar annual operating budgets for each Newsroom department.Responsible for managing the Corporate Apartment program; coordinate accommodation booking for reporters and their families, hire cleaning and maintenance crews, and negotiate apartment leasing terms. Track and organize deployment forms, relocation packages, and evacuation protocol for international correspondents and their families; work continuously with internal mobility teams to safely monitor our staff on assignment abroad. Mentor for The New York Times Mentorship Program 2021; work with junior-level staff on a one-on-one basis to help them navigate their career goals while nurturing their talent and acting as an advocate for their professional development and advancement.
