ABOUT JUAN ESTEBAN MARTÍNEZ JARAMILLO

As a passionate researcher and educator with a Ph.D. in Business Analytics, I have dedicated my career to exploring and addressing critical issues in socio-economic systems, particularly those related to climate change and electricity markets. My academic journey took me to HEC Lausanne, The Business School of the University of Lausanne, where I worked alongside Prof. Ann van Ackere in the Department of Operations. Currently, I am working at the University of Stuttgart with Prof. Meike Tilebein in subjects related to business models in the textile industry. My research delves into the systemic transitions of electricity systems, bringing a comprehensive and systemic perspective to understanding and solving complex challenges. My expertise extends across various socio-economic domains, including transport systems, business models, energy systems, food security, and homelessness dynamics. It has resulted in seven published papers, three of which leverage the powerful methodology of system dynamics.Beyond research, I have enriched my professional portfolio by lecturing at two universities and contributing as a researcher at three distinguished institutions. These roles have allowed me to build a robust network of colleagues and collaborators who share my commitment to impactful research and innovation.I am particularly interested in the intricate interplay between socioeconomic systems and climate change, with a keen focus on the evolving dynamics of electricity markets. I aim to continue driving forward-thinking research and fostering educational environments that equip future leaders with the insights and tools to navigate and mitigate the complexities of our world\'s most pressing issues.
