In this role I am responsible for maintaining the entire Microsoft Suite of solutions. TFS utilizes all four aspects of System Center including SCCM, SCOM, SCSM and Orchestrator. This helped to hone my skills as a programmer and gave me a unique opportunity to look at an IT infrastructure as a whole. Servers, desktops and user accounts are created, configured and monitored through different parts of the suite. Each solution requires a slightly different skillset including advanced PowerShell, xml manipulation, some web design skills and a lot of forecasting. Being a low-cost provider, they relied on this system to automate a lot of the functions of a typical IT department.
