    Juana is the chief diversity officer and director of Diversity and Language Services for AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina. She is a certified healthcare diversity professional with exemplary success in diversity and inclusion program development and strategic direction, supporting culturally and linguistically appropriate practices in patient services; employee processes of recruitment, evaluation, training/education, and retention; and community engagement in accordance with the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care as recommended by the Office of Minority Health / US Department of Health and Human Services. Juana demonstrates transformative leadership acumen most notably evidenced by an effective internal diversity leadership initiative; a public school collaborative designed to mentor young at-risk high school women; a school-to-work transition program for high schools seniors with disabilities; and a nationally recognized comprehensive health equity plan. Juana is past chair of the United Way Worldwide’s National Women’s Leadership Council; and from 2007 to 2009 she served as chairperson of the board of directors for the United Way of Anderson County in Anderson, South Carolina. She is a past member of the USA United Way Board of Trustees. Currently, she sits on the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Hospital Association and on the board of the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association. Juana is chair of the Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina. Juana\'s recognitions include: 2016 American Hospital Association’s Fred D.
