About Juan Rayo
Juan Rayo is a rising senior at Trinity College majoring in Political Science with a double minor in Hispanic Studies and Legal Studies. Originally from Nicaragua, he is a proud first-generation immigrant and college student who has worked to uplift marginalized communities through civic engagement. He is the Student Leader for TrinVotes, Trinity\'s non-partisan voter registration initiative, and has taken part in and led voter registration campaigns in Georgia since the 2022 midterms. On campus, Juan is a Language Tutor, supporting students who are taking courses taught in Spanish. He has participated in events at Trinity where he shared his networking and LinkedIn experience. He also served as a First-Year Seminar mentor, supporting the academic experience and transition to college life of a diverse group of first-year students. Juan has interned with his Congressman’s office in Georgia and the Majority Leader’s office in the Connecticut House of Representatives. He has also interned with non-profits in Atlanta and D.C. that advocate for the rights and progress of the Hispanic community. Juan’s experiences and work have been featured in multiple articles by Trinity, the school’s newspaper, and Georgia non-profits.In the future, Juan hopes to continue uplifting marginalized communities, including the ones he’s proudly part of, by advocating for policy reform that expands voter access and ensures all Americans can participate in our democracy.
