Directly responsible for final make/buy decisions, stock-material inventory levels, issuance of consumed materials/services to jobs in the ERP system- Using Engineering requirements, develop raw material and/or outside service requirements for purchase by adding manufacturing allowances, verifying testing requirements, and nesting material for optimal purchase/material utilization- Ensure BOM requirements in the product structure comply with part numbering system, the type of material (i.e. purchased, phantom, or shop order) in the ERP system is coded correctly, and quantities are verified. Ensure job material requirements are also compliant and verified- Collaborate with personnel to finalize make/buy decisions taking into account manufacturing capabilities, schedule requirements, and cost for projects. Support Proposal management during the Inquiry phase as it pertains to stock material availability and lead times- Issue instructions to the shop in compliance with schedule requirements. Keep associated documentation updated and visible- Maintain proper inventory levels of stock and job related stock/components. Evaluate current demand and future opportunities (i.e. inquiry needs) to establish reorder points. Promptly initiate purchase requirements to fulfill the demand. Communicate with Procurement to understand market lead times- Maintain and publish up-to-date list of all useable excess job material- Issue material and outside service activities from inventory into work orders in a timely manner- Perform physical inventories and cycle counts for accuracy against the system. Remain current on supplier capabilities- Develop and maintain guidelines and standards for manufacturing allowances, testing requirements, and nesting optimization - Develop, update, and control all process workflows and work instructions associated with the Material Control area. Actively participate in the improvement of processes and procedures.
