ABOUT JORDAN HOUGHTON

With 20 years of experience in strategic communications, Jordan Houghton has worked with a variety of organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Her extensive media relations work has netted coverage in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times and Fast Company, and appearances on CNN, NBC, CNBC, Fox News, and NPR. Jordan leads media relations for the Nuclear Energy Institute, where she works across national/international and trade media to advance the conversation on nuclear energy and highlight the critical role it plays in the fight against climate change. She previously directed education and outreach for the Smithsonian-affiliated National Atomic Testing Museum, where she managed the museum’s education programs, in addition to leading the museum’s media and public outreach—communicating the rich history of nuclear science and its continued importance. Jordan previously worked in the Office of Presidential Press Advance at the White House and in the Office of Media Relations at the FCC, led regional communications for global design firm Gensler, directed corporate communications for Allegiant Air, and has consulted for a dynamic client set across industries, including tech companies, banks, and labor unions. Her specialties include scientific/technical communications, crisis communications, media relations and training, internal communications, strategic/creative writing and editing, and government relations. Jordan has a B.A. in Journalism from Columbia College Chicago and an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri.
