I am passionate about web applications that tackle real-life situations and empower the end user to easily understand them, gain valuable insights and work more efficiently, preferably with a smile on their face :)With a degree computer science and aerospace engineering, I spent a significant amount of time working for Spanish air traffic control, developing software to analyze, monitor and improve the performance and safety of air travel.Storing, processing and automatically analyzing huge amounts of data was only half of the job. Equally important was to develop an application that allows users to easily view, visualize and inspect data and results to draw conclusions and act upon them.The Web was our platform of choice for this, as it is the most readily available and easily accessible platform out there.Today, at Vaadin, I work at a company that specializes in just that. The entire focus is on making sure that whatever web application you are developing, in whichever industry, is not ruined by slow and cumbersome UI. In fact, UI should be the thing that makes your application stand out from the crowd, makes your users fall in love with it and gives you an edge over competitors.Over 15 years in the field and 3 years as a Key Account Manager at Vaadin haven given me a unique insight into hundreds of projects. I\'ve see everything from complete and utter failure to stellar and outstanding results.
