About John Gerdes
I\'ve been in computers and business technology since helping to computerize my father\'s business while I was still in high school. Throughout college I continued to play an active role in the technology of his business until I landed a job at a startup dotcom company toward the end of my college career. In the fast paced world of ecommerce during the dotcom boom I went from being \"the computer guy\" in a 4 person company to the IT administrator in what grew to a 40 person company in under 2 years. After that I become an IT consultant at an IT consulting firm specializing in small business technology. This was followed by a stint in CRM software support and training as well as the internal IT admin at a financial services/coaching firm. Finally in April 2005, I took what had been a part time side business full time by launching Ascend Technology Group (formerly innovation5 technologies).
