About Jennifer Shannon
I\'m a practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist, and I\'ve spent my career at the intersection of clinical care and AI.With over 20 years of clinical practice, I continue to see patients in multiple treatment settings but realized that without the help of AI, I was never going to be able to help everyone who needed it.At Cognoa, I served as Medical Director and helped develop the first FDA-authorized software as a medical device (SaMD) for autism diagnosis, navigating and understanding what it actually takes to turn AI promises into regulated, trustworthy medical devices. That regulatory experience taught me something critical: in healthcare AI,\"trust us\" isn\'t a compliance strategy.I also serve on the AACAP AI Resource Committee, where we\'re shaping how our field thinks about artificial intelligence in child mental health. When an AI system makes a decision about a patient, logs aren\'t enough. Regulators and insurers don\'t want assurances that your safety policies should have run, they need mathematical proof that they did. That is how Glacis was born, to build exactly that: the first AI Policy Enforcement Infrastructure that turns safety claims into cryptographic proof. We issue tamper-evident receipts for every AI decision, captured at inference time, our system enforces policies at the edge, seeing only hashes, never your data.At Glacis, and in my clinical practice, we\'re taking with AI in healthcare every day. I want to build the proof that translates into trust and physicians need to be leading the charge. If you\'re a healthcare AI leader, building, buying, or regulating AI in healthcare or life sciences, I would love to connect.
