ABOUT SPENCER GIBSON
Soon after coming to the realization I wasn’t bound for greatness as a touring musician, I decided to pursue the next best thing: a career in analytics!Since then, I have had fulfilling and interesting analytical roles with fantastic companies in CPG, consulting, travel and financial services. I have spent most of that time tackling problems like optimizing marketing mix, developing data driven pricing and promotion strategies and working to understand consumer shopping behavior in the digital space. I love solving complex problems and using challenges as opportunities to develop new skills, sharpen existing ones and learn from those around me. In my free time, you will probably find me playing with my kiddos and 3 crazy dogs, catching a concert with my better half or working on my car in my garage.As for skill set, I have working knowledge of R, Python, SAS, Visual Basic for Applications and SQL. I also have experience with building generalized linear models, using machine learning methods (decision trees, random forests, cluster analysis), using statistical forecasting techniques (ARIMA, VAR, VECM) and linear programming/optimization.
