About J. Ryan Blesse
After spending nearly a decade developing and executing impactful, story-driven, and people-focused brand campaigns, projects, and initiatives in the insurance and financial services industry, I made a pivot. At the time, it felt like a big (scary) one. I not only switched from insurance and financial services to healthcare. I also switched from brand management to human resources. On top of that, I made the leap from individual contributor to leader. I was nervous and, more importantly, I didn\'t have to make the pivot. I didn\'t have to change roles or companies or industries.I didn\'t have to, but I am so glad I did. And it turns out, it wasn\'t as huge of a pivot as I thought it would be. I\'m still managing an impactful, story-driven, people-focused initiative. I am still leading projects (and, against all odds, people!). And I still have a piece of the (employee) brand puzzle.As the HR Manager, Strategic Projects, I oversee the Voice of SC team in Springfield Clinic\'s Department of Cultural Excellence. Voice of SC\'s goal is simple: To bring together our executive leaders, department leaders, and HR to our frontline employees to visit every department across the Clinic, listen directly to staff on what\'s going well and what can be improved, and act to make the staff\'s day-to-day even better. Our initiative is bringing together employees from all levels of the company together to make our culture what we want it to be and to live our employee value proposition: Together We Are the Clinic. And it\'s not just lip service - Voice of SC itself was an idea our employees brought to us in the 2023 Employee Survey. And since establishing Voice of SC, our employees have helped to create over 300 ideas to improve their day-to-day since the project kicked off in December 2023, and together we have delivered on over 70% of them. In addition to our core Voice of SC initiative, our team also oversees the annual employee survey and the Employee Value Proposition.Voice of SC is just one proof point of why Springfield Clinic continues to be a Newsweek Top 100 Most Loved Workplace.
