I am currently leading two research initiatives aimed at enhancing the climate and social resilience of the City of Portsmouth, VA.On-going Projects:1. Parametric Insurance & Coastal Asset Protection - Conducting a comprehensive Willingness to Pay (WTP) study to evaluate market demand for parametric insurance products among coastal homeowners- Focusing specifically on high-vulnerability assets, including septic systems and shoreline infrastructure, which are often excluded from traditional indemnity policies- Subsequent work: Informing partner insurance company with results and help designing their insurance policy.2. Urban Wellbeing Index Design & Implementation - Designing a multidimensional Wellbeing Index tailored to the unique demographic and economic landscape of Portsmouth- Integrating diverse data streams, such as demographics, environmental health, employment opportunities, and community access, to create a standardized metric for city performance.
