About Ruperto F.
I design complex AI, data, and enterprise systems that people can actually understand and operate. At Amazon Bedrock, I focused on how teams build, test, and evolve AI behavior in production, including how they manage GenAI assets like prompts and connect them to datasets, evaluations, and model performance. My work centers on making powerful systems usable without hiding their complexity. I care about helping engineers and operators reason about what systems are doing, why they behave the way they do, and how to change them safely. That means designing for clarity, trust, and control in environments where mistakes are costly and abstraction alone is not enough.I work closely with scientists and engineers to translate deep technical work into interfaces that support real decision-making, not just setup. Across AI platforms, enterprise tools, and operational systems, my goal is to make complexity operable so teams can focus on creating value instead of wrestling with infrastructure.I care deeply about building systems that are transparent, reliable, and empowering, especially as AI becomes more powerful and harder to reason about. Design should help people stay in control, not feel overwhelmed by the technology they depend on.Outside of work, I’m a dedicated capoeirista, a matcha and espresso enthusiast, and a traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and creative inspiration wherever I go.My work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Parent’s Magazine, and Taschen’s Web Design: The Evolution of the Digital World 1990–Today, and has received honors including a Webby People’s Voice Award, Clio Interactive Bronze, SXSW Interactive, and an Adobe Design Achievement Award.

Product Designer, Generative Ai
Dec 2024 — Present · Santa Clara, CA, US
Lead UX design for AI model lifecycle and evaluation systems used by engineers operating production foundation models.Designed end-to-end workflows for model comparison, prompt optimization, shadow testing, and controlled rollout. Enabled teams to evaluate behavioral differences, cost impact, and performance changes before exposing updates to live traffic.Focused on making probabilistic systems understandable and controllable by surfacing system state, constraints, and failure modes clearly. Treated auditability, rollback, and reversibility as first-class UX concerns to support safe experimentation at scale.Partner closely with applied scientists and backend engineers to align interaction design with real infrastructure constraints and production safety requirements.
