ABOUT JORGE R. CANEDO E.
Jorge Rolando Canedo Estrada, also known as Jr.canest, is a Vancouver-based animator & creative director. Originally from Bolivia, he’s spent his life trying to understand how and why. He now applies this curiosity to what he loves: Motion Design. He loves detailed-oriented keyframing with a strong connection to audio and simple shapes.Soon after the camera became one of his favorite toys, he also discovered the world of animation and started to learn on his own. At 17, he won a video competition for a full scholarship to Vancouver Film School and graduated from the Digital Design program. He then became a full-time animator at Buck in Los Angeles and later joined the talented team at Giant Ant in Vancouver as an animator and later as an associate creative director. After freelancing for a short while, he started Ordinary Folk in 2019, a motion design and animation studio based in Vancouver. He also started Wine after Coffee, a highly curated motion and animation Vimeo channel and Blend fest, a festival for the Motion Design community.Jorge spends his time hanging out with his super talented wife, playing with his children, riding his bike in the rain, attempting to create the perfect curve of animation, enjoying a glass of fresh orange juice, or simply enjoying God’s blessings.
