Genome editing, rice trait development, tool development for precise gene targeting. • Leading genome editing enabling technology projects to develop methods applied on rice commercial trait development: o Validation of knockout and replacement approaches o Validation of vector elements for precise genome editing o Establishment of morphogenic gene-based methods for crop genome editing • Leading the scientific strategy and the execution of rice trait development projects • Leading gene screening platform for trait development. • Managing third party partnership for gene screening/phenotyping. • Line-managing, training, tracking progress and developing a team of laboratory technicians. • Work in partnership with PMO to ensure milestone delivery on time and on budget. • Report project progress, outcomes, and risks to different stakeholders (scientific team, senior management team) • Lead the execution of cross team collaborative projects. • Establishment of processes, creation of process maps, ensure compliance with Quality Management system and Excellence through Stewardship (ETS) • Acted as interim Head of Rice for 4 months in a moment Tropic was transitioning management: o Lead the whole rice team, managed project sign-off, line managed 7 people.
