Since beginning his education in architecture, JP has studied the relationship between aging and the built environment. He has led teams in the development of award-winning senior living communities that enhance the lives of residents and integrate into the neighborhoods they are a part of. What began as an unexpected assignment to a Continuing Care Retirement project early in his career sparked a genuine passion that has endured for over 20 years. This initial experience revealed the fascinating complexity and deeply rewarding nature of senior living design, with its diverse challenges spanning from residents\' evolving needs to operational considerations.JP\'s architectural approach encompasses every phase from conceptual design to project closeout, building lasting client relationships along the way. His dedication to creating exceptional senior living environments stems from a personal conviction—having witnessed uninspiring and dispiriting designs for aging, he is committed to crafting alternatives that inspire hope rather than fear.As the world\'s population continues to age, JP believes the narrative around senior living must fundamentally change; these environments can become vibrant settings for a new life chapter filled with personal growth, agency, and contribution. JP is particularly passionate about fostering intergenerational connections, advocating for senior living as an integrated component of multigenerational, mixed-use districts where older adults can continue to live their best lives while remaining connected to the broader community.
