ABOUT JACKIE PATANIO
Educator & leader at NYCDOE for 17 years. Presently, I am a Director of Citywide Ed Tech on the Ed Tech Program Team at DIIT. My work spans across the NYCDOE in support of centralized technology initiatives, professional development and leadership development in technology, liaison for superintendents and district/school leaders along side the team I supervise. In my most previous role, prior to being in my current position, I served as an EdTech Instructional Lead for 6 years working cross content & cross-functionally among the B/CO teams & District teams. This work inspired my decision to seek an opportunity for a citywide position. As a lead I supported the 71+ schools in Staten Island and through citywide initiatives. I work closely with principals, assistant principals, teachers, paras, SPOCS, parent coordinators and other inside out community. My role has allowed me to manage district projects such as, the technology vision, support of teacher and leader development through PD coaching, creation of customized professional learning, and district ed tech team formation. All of my focuses around digital literacy & citizenship, integration of technology with a focus on frameworks, best practices in ed tech and the cross-connections into all content and alignment with global audience and purpose. I have been afforded the opportunity to collaborate with others outside NYC to grow my networks and partnerships for professional growth.
