About Joy Silha

I\'ve had many paths, they all connect - I\'m deeply connected to nature and animals and I love interacting with people. These are themes that run through my pursuits in life. I\'m very curious and I\'m here to evolve and grow and share whatever insights I have. I\'m a Freelance Writer and Middle Grade Novelist, and a Life Coach who partners with equines to help girls and women find greater empowerment in their lives. I tend to focus on animals, nature and how they heal ourselves and our world. I had a coaching column called \"Inspired by Joy\" in the Albuquerque Journal and I\'ve published articles in a national magazine. I\'ve interviewed thousands of people and these skills, along with my ability to form a creative narrative has motivated me. I\'m currently writing a Middle Grade Novel, which of course, involves horses and dogs. I will be looking for a publisher next year at its completion. With a partner and mini equines, we are starting a mentoring program for girls age 12-17. I\'m a certified Martha Beck Coach and a certified Equus Coach. I had a coaching practice for women called Awaken Your Inner Cowgirl, where we journeyed on a sacred inner discovery with the assistance of horses. This upcoming mentoring program will help girls as they face difficult challenges. We believe our mentoring will help them gain greater confidence, become more empathic and stand up for who they truly are. Horses are sensitive and intuitive and help us see our energy, our intentions and how we communicate, lead or partner. It is a powerful experience! For over 30 years, I facilitated all forms of Qualitative Research, both digital and in-person. I believe qualitative research is more art than science and requires creative approaches and analyses! Research cannot be a substitute for creativity. I live in Santa Fe, the City Different, where I hike, ride my horse, and enjoy nature, the culture and the unique light. I am an avid animal advocate, and a volunteer for the Humane Society and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. I approach all my work with creativity, kindness, curiosity and tons of energy!    Writer based in Santa Fe, NM. I balance many different kinds of writing, which makes life interesting! I\'m an explorer in life. Curiosity drives me and has led me down many paths. I feel I am a student of nature and animals as they have informed my work, my writing and my personal journey. I believe I\'m here to learn, grow and be of service. I write about how animals make us more human, personal growth, empowerment, and all things Southwest. And I love researching history and creating a narrative that is relevant today. I\'m a very experienced interviewer, a great listener and I know how to extract key elements in order to create an insightful story. I can dig into details and analyze research reports or write business articles about product development, marketing, or advertising. This comes from my background and many years of experience as an entrepreneur and consultant. My writing experience includes an on-going monthly advice column for the Albuquerque Journal about women\'s business and personal goals; published articles on horses and horse care for local and national magazines; market research writing/presentations, blogging about a variety of topics including profiles, history, coaching, and women. I love the Southwest and love exploring the history and uniqueness of the many cultures and the breathtaking landscape in this part of the country.
