About Joy
Hi! I’m Joy, a third-year Neuroscience and Psychology major at the University of Washington. I’m really drawn to sports medicine and physical therapy — especially rehabilitation — and hope to work as a PT/AT for a professional sports team, in the future.Right now, I’m a sports medicine intern with UW’s Division I Athletics program and a researcher at the Reed Lab, where I study Alzheimer’s treatment and neurodegeneration. I also serve as a Resident Advisor and as Community Outreach Director for Portraits of Humanity, a storytelling project sharing the experiences of people with chronic illnesses.Outside of academics, I love running (I’m training for my first marathon!), hiking, taking portraits, and playing word and board games. Fun fact: I’ve completed every NYT Mini Crossword from today all the way back to December 2015 — I’m hoping to make it to the first ever puzzle (August 21, 2014) before the year ends!
