Joyce Hicks is an award-winning features writer, copy editor, medical editor, and wordsmith whose work has appeared in The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, The Independent Weekly, The Detroit Free Press, Essence magazine, Ebony.com, Duke Divinity\'s Faith & Leadership online magazine, Signal Hill, and WomenAdvanceNC.org.
