Do you know someone who has been scammed? I do. A loved one was involved in a romance scam a few years ago. As much as I wanted to find the person and \"give him a piece of my mind\", I realized that was not the best use of my time. So I did some research and decided to start a nonprofit, R.O.S.E. Resources/Outreach to Safeguard the Elderly. We are disrupting the scammers business through prevention. We are educating the seniors about scams and tips/tools to help them prevent falling victim.In 2021, the 60+ population in the United States reported financial losses from scams of over $7 billion! Arizona\'s 60+ population reported over $54 million in losses in 2021. Arizona losses doubled from 2020 to 2021. Through effective, concise, in person educational presentations, R.O.S.E. is actively working to arm the seniors with resources and education to help them not fall victim to the scams. It is not a matter of if they will be contacted, it is a matter of when and how often. We encourage the seniors to have conversations with their family and friends about what they learned so they can keep this information in the fore front of their mind.We would love to have your support in this effort!
