She brings over 20 years of US and international experience working directly with top executives to solve challenges across sectors including technology, economic development, urban planning, sustainability, education, health care, public policy, public affairs, and strategic communications.As Chief of Staff at HR & A Advisors, Joy steers the executive office and executive management team, oversees strategic priorities, implements critical firmwide initiatives, directs large-scale organizational changes, leads multi-layered stakeholder management, and builds diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture. Joy is an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where previously she was the Director of Communications. As a core member of BKC’s senior leadership team, she was responsible for external-facing communications and co-led on internal management priorities. Through her career, Joy has held roles in business settings ranging from corporate, nonprofit, government, to startup. She has a global mindset that leverages unique market expertise from 10 years working in the Asia Pacific region. Besides her native English, she speaks Mandarin Chinese and French. Joy is in her element when building bridges, connecting the dots, operating in complex environments, and navigating cross-cultural contexts. She thrives on ensuring organizations to be more effective and ensuring people to be their best selves.
