ABOUT JOY ROSE FLETT

With over 11 years of experience as an Aboriginal Relations Advisor at Suncor Energy, I am passionate about providing funding and resources to fulfill existing commitments and developing, maintaining, and furthering new and existing relationships with our stakeholders. I am responsible for collaborating and engaging with Indigenous communities and organizations in the RMWB region, and ensuring that their perspectives are leveraged into Suncor\'s business plan and that Suncor\'s plan is aligned with their needs and aspirations. My core competencies include community development, socio-economic agreements, cultural awareness, and training and employment programs. I have a personal knowledge of the Dene culture and communities, as well as a certificate in Aboriginal Entrepreneurship and Leadership Wood Buffalo. I am proud to have received the 2014 NAABA Aboriginal Women in Business Award and the 2015 Female Citizen Award for my contributions to the Indigenous economic development and social well-being. My mission is to help Indigenous members achieve greater successes by completing training programs, attaining certifications, and securing long-term, full-time sustainable employment in and around Fort McMurray. I am always eager to learn new skills, face new challenges, and pursue new opportunities that will enable me to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
